e-Learning
The ALERRT Center at Texas State University was created in 2002 as a partnership between Texas State University, the San Marcos Police Department, and the Hays County Sheriff’s Office to address the growing need for active shooter response training for first responders. In 2013, ALERRT at Texas State was designated by the FBI as the National Standard in Active Shooter Response Training, further solidifying its role as a leader in evidence based tactics and instruction.
In 2021, the ALERRT eLearning site was launched to expand access to this training online. The platform serves as the ALERRT's online training hub, providing accessible, high quality instruction built on these nationally recognized best practices. It offers a wide range of self paced and instructor supported courses for law enforcement, educators, and community members. Developed for scalability and ease of use, the ALERRT eLearning environment ensures consistent, research driven training is available to individuals and organizations across the country, supporting ALERRT’s mission to enhance community safety through education and readiness.
